2026 Alumni Recognition Awards

To be considered for this award, candidates must submit an essay about the impact that StFX has had on them. Finalists then attend an interview with members of the Alumni Association’s Recognition committee. Five awards of $2,000 were presented to each of these students at the end of the academic year. This is just one example of how the StFX Alumni Association supports our current students.

Meet your Fredericton, NB alumni chapter presidents
After nearly a decade of living in Antigonish, NS, Justin Searle ’21 and Elizabeth Gushue ’20 now call Fredericton, NB home—where they’ve already jumped into reconnecting with the StFX alumni community. While at StFX, Justin, originally from Toronto, ON, studied political science and suited up for the X-Men football team as a defensive back. He now works as an event manager at the Fredericton Convention Centre. Elizabeth, from Sussex NB, majored in accounting and served as the student manager for the X-Women basketball team during her StFX student days. Today, she is the finance and HR coordinator at Hospice Fredericton. Together, they’re excited to help grow the StFX alumni network in New Brunswick’s capital, organizing events and get-togethers from brewery meetups to game-day gatherings and more opportunities for alumni to connect.
